SWFA is very thankful to our traditional and new sponsors for their support towards research awards and special events.
Awards. Continuing with SWFA's tradition of recognizing research excellence, monetary prizes will be awarded for outstanding papers, including doctoral student papers. SWFA will also provide partial travel support to all presenting doctoral students.
Doctoral students. In recent meetings, over 80 Ph.D. students from 20 countries presented their papers at the conference, attended special sessions designed for doctoral students, and networked with colleagues from all over the world.
Conference Registration. All presenters, discussants, session chairs, and panel members must have current SWFA membership and register for the conference by January 10, 2023 for inclusion in the program. Conference participants will enjoy a special hotel rate.
SWFA attendees need to create an account on www.fbdonline.org and select the SWFA icon and associated free lunches within the Federation of Business Disciplines (FBD) options for purchase/order. The SWFA icons can be found at the end of the list, on the third page. Total registration fees are $225 for regular attendees and $150 for PhD students.
Southwestern Finance Association membership is paid through Wiley.
Houston Highlights. Houston is home to the country’s 4th largest museum district with galleries, cultural centers, and 19 museums downtown in the pedestrian-friendly Museum District. In addition, Houston is one of only a few U.S. cities with resident professional companies in the four disciplines of the performing arts: ballet, opera, symphony, and theater. Nicknamed Space City, Houston is also home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center. Houston is considered to have one of the best culinary scenes in the country, and home teams offer year-round competition and high-energy action for loyal sports afficionados. The Houston Aquarium is also a popular tourist attraction, and the Houston Rodeo is on during the conference time.
